Roof lanterns in Coleraine
Western and upland parts of the UK get more rain and more wind-driven rain than the east, and that's what finds weak cappings and blocked eaves first. Lanterns here benefit from a check of the bars on the most exposed face and a clear eaves channel before winter.
Coleraine is around 27 miles from Derry~Londonderry, and both are within our County Londonderry coverage.
Neighbouring places we cover include Portstewart (4 miles), Ballymoney (8 miles), Limavady (13 miles).
Building rules in Northern Ireland
Most lantern repairs in Northern Ireland need no approval at all. Where a job turns into a replacement, the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 apply and we confirm how the work will be signed off before we start. Listed buildings in Northern Ireland need listed building consent from the council for alterations; check with the council's planning service before changing a lantern on a listed property.
