Roof lanterns in Lockerbie
Damp, mild winters keep moss and algae growing on flat roofs and lantern frames, which holds water against seals and blocks weep slots. Regular clearing makes a real difference in wetter areas.
Lockerbie is around 11 miles from Dumfries, and both are within our Dumfries and Galloway coverage.
Close by, we also cover Annan (10 miles), Dumfries (11 miles), Castle Douglas (26 miles).
Do you need permission?
Most lantern repairs in Scotland need no approval at all. Where a job turns into a replacement, the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 apply and we confirm how the work will be signed off before we start. Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent from the planning authority for alterations, with Historic Environment Scotland guidance; check before changing a lantern on a listed property.
