Roof lantern repairs for care homes and healthcare settings fix leaks, overheating and condensation in lounges, conservatories, dining rooms, corridors and waiting areas. We work across the UK, adapt how we work around residents and patients on request, and confirm a fixed price in writing before any work starts.
How do you work around residents and patients?
We agree working times and areas with the manager before we start, so that residents and patients can be moved away from the space below the lantern where needed. On request we keep to quiet working, avoid mealtimes and rest periods, and limit noisy tasks such as cutting out old sealant to agreed windows. Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are provided before work starts.
Can you follow our infection control arrangements?
Yes, on request we follow your setting's infection control arrangements, such as using dust sheets and containment, keeping to designated routes, cleaning the work area thoroughly before handing it back and signing in and out. Tell us what your procedures involve when you ask for a quote, so that any extra time or materials are included in the fixed price.
Why are our conservatory lounges too hot or too damp?
Older lanterns over lounges and conservatories often let in a lot of summer heat and attract condensation in winter, and both affect comfort for people who spend much of the day in one room. Replacing units with solar control glass reduces heat gain, while working vents, renewed seals and modern glass help with condensation.
What happens if a lantern leaks over a communal area?
Water on a floor is a slip risk, so close off the area and catch the drips first. We then arrange an urgent make-safe as soon as we can to stop more water getting in, followed by a quoted permanent repair. A leak investigation with a written report helps you record the cause and the action taken.

Questions people ask
Can you work evenings or weekends?
Yes, on request. Evening or weekend working can be planned where it suits your residents or clinic times, with any extra cost priced in the quote.
Can you replace glass over occupied rooms?
Yes, but the room below is cleared and closed while glass units are removed and fitted. We agree the timing with you so residents or patients can be moved elsewhere for that period.
Do you offer planned maintenance?
Yes. Regular visits to clean the glass, clear gutters, check seals and test vents can be booked at agreed times to limit disruption.
