Who we help

Roof lantern repairs for offices and workplaces

Roof lantern repairs for offices and workplaces keep the glazed roofs over receptions, atriums, break-out spaces and showrooms watertight and comfortable to work under. We work with facilities managers and business owners across the UK, providing RAMS before work and a fixed price in writing before any work starts.

What do facilities managers receive before we start?

  • Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), sent before work starts.
  • Details of the access equipment we plan to use and where it will stand.
  • Agreed working hours, contractor sign-in and any permit-to-work steps for your site.
  • A named contact for the day and a clear scope of work in the written quote.

If your building has its own contractor induction, mention it when you request the quote so it can be planned in.

How do you reach lanterns on commercial roofs?

Access depends on roof height, existing edge protection and how far the lantern sits from the roof edge. On many commercial roofs that means a mobile tower, temporary edge protection or a MEWP, and sometimes working from inside the atrium as well. The access we need is planned and priced in the quote, so the figure you accept already includes it.

Why is our atrium too hot or too bright to work under?

Clear glazing over desks and meeting areas can cause overheating and glare, especially in south-facing spaces and through the summer. Upgrading the existing units to solar control glass reduces solar heat gain while keeping good daylight, and a working opening vent helps clear warm air. We set out glass options with their g-value and light transmittance so you can compare them side by side.

Can you keep disruption to staff down?

Yes, work can be planned for early starts, evenings or weekends on request, with any out-of-hours costs priced in the quote. Areas below the lantern are cordoned off while we work, and noisy tasks are kept to agreed times. For planned work across several sites, we can schedule visits to fit your calendar.

Repairs that often apply

Questions people ask

Do you provide reports for our building records?

Yes. Inspections and leak investigations come with a written report and photos, which you can add to your building records or planned maintenance schedule.

What should we do about cracked glass over a workspace?

Close off the area below and send us photos. We arrange a make-safe as soon as we can and quote for a replacement unit, usually with a laminated inner pane.

Do you work on flat rooflights as well as lanterns?

Yes. Flat rooflights over corridors and stairwells suffer similar seal, upstand and glass faults, and we repair them alongside lanterns.
